Well, the news is now out to all friends, family and employers, so we may as well put it here as well.
Starting January 1, 2015 we are taking our 1987 Volkswagen Westfalia (Lucky) on a long drive down to the southern most tip of South America. We expect to be gone for over a year.
We have been preparing a long time for this and will be updating the blog on those preparations in the coming weeks.

Well, it has been quite a while since our last post. A few years in fact! We are currently planning our next adventure and will put more information on the blog as we do.
But first! Gregor had a birthday, his 50th. Half a century. Five decades. 18250 days on this planet.
Ducks crossing the road
While driving to the bank, Gregor saw a mama duck and her baby ducklings non-chalantly crossing Horton Road, just a block away from one of the busiest, noisiest big-box intersections in Calgary: MacLeod Trail South and Southland Drive. The closest water feature to this spot is about 4 km away, at Glenmore Reservoir. There are only office buildings, aging shopping centres, and high density housing complexes nearby. What the heck were they doing there?
